What Is HypnoBirthing?
HypnoBirthing is a complete birth education programme that teaches simple, powerful and specific self-hypnosis, relaxation and breathing techniques for a positive pregnancy and birth experience.
You will discover the unique and special journey of birth without fear. Eliminating fear removes the Fear-Tension-Pain Syndrome which promotes a more comfortable and enjoyable (Yes, I said enjoyable!!) birth. You will be shown how to safely release any anxieties you may have and how to overcome previous traumatic pregnancies and births.
HypnoBirthing doesn't mean you’ll be in a trance or a sleep. Rather, you'll be able to chat, and be and in good spirits — totally relaxed, but fully in control. You’ll always be aware of what is happening to you, and around you.
HypnoBirthing doesn’t require any particular belief system, or prior experience. Some of our mums (and especially their husbands!) have been very sceptical at first — until they experience it for themselves.
Birth is a natural and inherently safe process. Mother Nature is a wise woman and HypnoBirthing allows you to tune in her to messages. You will learn how to trust your instincts, trust your body to function beautifully and understand how you and your baby work in harmony through pregnancy and labour.
In short, HypnoBirthing allows you to experience birth in an atmosphere of calm relaxation, free of the fear and tension that prevents the birthing muscles of your body from functioning as Nature intended them to.
HypnoBirthing is suitable for first time mums and mums who’ve had children before. Participation in the programme is recommended from 12 weeks of pregnancy onwards. The programme consists of five 2 1/2 hour sessions at weekly intervals. The benefits of HypnoBirthing are achievable no matter how advanced in pregnancy you are.
